What Happens when television goes completely digital in February, 2009? Well, the bid for airspace that analog television was taking up was up for grabs. And recently, wireless companies AT&T Inc., Verizon Wireless, and Qualcomm Inc. were there to snatch it up.

According to Computerworld.com, the 700-MHz spectrum, I mentioned before where analog television has been residing and will clear out with the move to digital in 2009, has begun to be bought by three wireless companies in effort to expand each companies' networks. Whether or not there are more pieces of the spectrum up for grabs wasn't mentioned, so I wouldn't rule out google as another possible entity to puchase some of this bandwidth for future wireless endeavors.
